Keep clothes lovely for longer: Sewing on a patch
Do you have a Little Green Radicals Explorer Badge or lovely little patch waiting to decorate something special, but not sure where to start? Look no further! Here's a step-by-step guide that shows how to sew on a patch from our friend Julia from Upcycle Fashion. Patches are also a great way to cover a hole in a well loved item of clothing, giving it a longer life and keeping it out of landfill.

How to sew on a patch
...1. Place badge in preferred area of fabric

2. Thread a needle with a matching colour, knot the end and start from the back of the work

3. Pass the needle from the back of the fabric out through the front of the badge

4. Holding the badge in place, sew small running stitches in line with the edge of the badge

5. Keep the stitches small and evenly spaced

6. Continue with running stitches around the edge of the badge

7. Finish the last stitch to the back of the fabric, and tie a couple of knots in the thread, close to the fabric, before trimming the thread
